Kraków is well renowned for its great restaurants and cafes - these are some of our favorites and are all within walking distance of our apartment.
Balaton - Hungarian Cuisine - ul. Grodzka 37
This place has been around ages and is a Krakow original - the interior looks the same as it did in the 70's (and in this case its a good thing). If you're in the mood for some great Hungarian food made with fresh ingredients, this is the place to go.
Corse - Corsican Cuisine - ul. Poselska 24
This Corsican restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem as its tucked away in a less traversed area of the old town. It's a bit pricier than other Krakow restaurants, but it also serves food you won't be able to find anywhere else in the city.
Dobra Kasza Nasza - Polish Cuisine - Rynek Główny 28
www.dobrakaszanasza.pl/menu.html
Dobra Kasza Nasza, which in English means 'Our tasty groats' is an amazingly original restaurant right on Krakow main square. The menu consists of a range of healthy and tasty 'groat-based' dishes. If you're not used to eating 'groats' you'll likely be pleasantly surprised how tasty they are. Unfortunately the website does not display an English-based menu, but you can get an English menu at the restaurant.
Dynia Resto Bar - Polish and European Cuisine - ul. Krupnicza 20
If you're a tourist in Krakow and want to get a feel for where the locals go check out Dynia Resto Bar. Dynia means 'pumpkin' in Polish and this restaurant serves a range of delicious pumpkin-based meals and treats, such as pumpkin soup, risotto, and even crème brûlée. This is also a great place to go for breakfast or brunch on the weekends.
Farina - Seafood - ul. sw. Marka 16
This is arguably Krakow's best seafood restaurant. It's a bit pricier than other resturants in the city, but can't recommend it enough.
Miod Malina - Polish-Italian Cuisine - ul. Grodzka 40
This is one of the best Polish restaurants in Krakow. Food is amazingly fresh, and service is always impeccable.
Przypiecek - Kraków's famous 24 hour Pierogi restaurant - ul. Sławkowska 32
www.miodiwino.pl/en/zapiecek-ekspres,503.xhtml
If you're in the mood for pierogi's this 24 hour 'Pierogarnia' is the place to go. It's a tiny hole in the wall place so be prepared to wait outside for a table to open up if it's busy.
Wesele - Polish Cuisine - Main Square in Krakow, opposite the Cloth Hall and the St. Adalbert church
Run by the same company as Miod Malina, this is another amazing place to go for Polish cuisine. It's located right on the main square so if you can grab a table near a window you'll also be able to enjoy an amazing view of the city while you dine.
